Camden, Maine, November 20, 2025 – Camden National Bank is mobilizing customers and employees to make a difference this season. In recognition of Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week, the Bank is collecting donations to create Hope Kits—care packages filled with essential items for local shelters in Maine and New Hampshire
From November 1 through 25, donations of personal toiletries, non-perishable food, and other necessities are being collected at the Bank’s 72 banking centers. The goal: fill 1,500 sling bags for delivery to local shelters serving individuals and families in need.
“It’s inspiring to see how our employees and customers continue to embody the spirit of community that has defined Camden National Bank for 150 years,” said Renée Smyth, Chief Experience & Marketing Officer of Camden National Bank. “The Hope Kits are a meaningful way to show compassion and care during a critical time for our neighbors in need, and they remind us that even small acts of kindness can make a lasting impact.”
The Hope Kits initiative complements Camden National Bank’s Hope@Home program, which donates $100 to a local homeless shelter for each new home it finances. Since 2015, Hope@Home has contributed more than $842,600 in unrestricted funding to 90 shelters across Maine and New Hampshire.
“Milestone Recovery is deeply grateful for the support we’ve received through the Hope@Home initiative,” said Alisa Gibson, Director of Development at Milestone Recovery. “Donations from this program have helped us reach some of Maine’s most vulnerable residents—people navigating homelessness, substance use, and profound barriers to care. These funds translate directly into compassionate outreach, safe shelter, and life-saving recovery services. At a time when need is growing and resources are strained, this support is not only generous—it’s essential.”
Earlier this year, Camden National Bank introduced a new Giving Center widget within its digital banking platform, making it easier for customers to donate directly to local nonprofits. Customers can choose one-time or recurring donations, including to organizations focused on homelessness.
