- Choose a default funding account (this will be a parent/guardian account that funds family accounts).
- Add a child to create their own Family Wallet checking account. This will also issue a debit card for them.
- Invite your child using the QR code, PIN, and app download links shown on the invite page.
- Download the Camden Family Wallet App and tap Accept Invite on the sign-in page. Enter the PIN from the invite.
- Set up the child profile: Create a display name, password, and avatar. (Biometrics can be added after password setup.)

Family Wallet consists of a shared account, funded by another Camden National Bank account, to house the savings and goals for each family member. As you add people to your Family Wallet, each child will have their own spending account (their ‘wallet’ account) containing the money they can access and spend with their own debit card. Both the parent or guardian and child can move money between Savings, Goals, and Spending (Wallet), which promotes full visibility and a mentored approach to early money management.
Every family has a different approach to empowering their kids to develop healthy earning, saving, budgeting, and spending habits, which means it’s up to you when you feel they’re ready.
Unsafe spending categories can be blocked, and cards can be easily disabled and enabled within the parent or guardian’s digital banking card controls. Parents or guardians can also set spending limits and real-time spending notifications from within card controls for peace of mind. The child's debit card has standard debit card security features with tap and chip encryption technology, making payments safer and speedier.
Once your child's Family Wallet account is opened, you should expect to receive their debit card within 5-7 business days.
Family Wallet debit cards can be used for online purchases and with Apple Pay or Google Pay (only if child is 13+) online or in person. Physical debit cards can be used at merchants when run as ‘Credit.’ ATM withdrawals are disabled to preserve parental controls.
- Go to Child > Settings > Spending, then toggle Card Details to view the card number, expiration date, and CVV in the Camden Family Wallet app.
