Northern Light Maine Coast Hospital Receives Gift from Camden National Bank

Ellsworth, Maine, December 22, 2022Northern Light Maine Coast Hospital has received a generous commitment from Camden National Bank.

This gift is the most recent contribution to support Maine Coast’s modernization through the Building on a Promise campaign. The modernization project will provide a family-focused birthing center with modern amenities, as well as renovation to inpatient areas of the hospital, which will increase the availability of single private patient rooms. The modernization project will improve access to emergency c-sections due to the new birthing center’s proximity to the operating room and improve patient and family comfort and privacy.

“We are grateful for the continued support and partnership of Camden National Bank,” says John Ronan, FACHE, president, Maine Coast Hospital. “This gift exemplifies their strong commitment to enhancing access to healthcare for the communities they serve.”

“Working together to raise funds for this campaign is something the entire team was honored to be a part of,” said Greg Dufour, president and chief executive officer of Camden National Bank. “We are focused on strengthening the communities we serve and know that this modernization project will help expand healthcare accessibility for our community and employees in the region.”

Construction of the birthing center is well underway and is anticipated to open in February 2023. Upon completion, renovation of existing inpatient rooms will begin. With just under $750,000 needed to complete the campaign, community support will be critical, and we hope you will join us in supporting Maine Coast Hospital.
