We’re always looking out for you. By staying informed, we can work together to protect your finances. Below are three common scams we’re seeing more often, along with what you can do and how Camden National Bank helps keep your information safe.
1. “This Is Your Bank Calling”
Fraudsters may call pretending to be us, sometimes spoofing our phone number or using AI‑generated voices, and ask for passwords or secure access codes.
What You Can Do
- Never share your secure access code or password.
- If you’re unsure, hang up and call us using a trusted number.
What We Do
- Camden National Bank representatives and our Fraud Center will never contact you to ask for your password or secure access code by phone, email, or text.
- You can always reach us directly at 800‑860‑8821.
2. Phish‑y Emails & Texts
Scammers send fake messages that look like they’re from us, often asking you to click a link or share personal information. Some now use AI to make messages sound more convincing.
What You Can Do
- Don’t click links or share personal information from unexpected emails or texts.
- Pause if a message feels urgent or off.
What We Do
- We only send emails from addresses ending in .bank. If it’s not .bank, it’s not us.
3. “Accidentally” Sent You Money
In this peer‑to‑peer (P2P) payment scam, someone sends you money and asks you to send it back. The original payment was likely made using stolen funds.
What You Can Do
- Don’t return money to someone you don’t know.
- If it seems suspicious, call us first.
What We Do
We’re here to help you review the transaction safely and guide you on next steps.
